PUBLIC STREETWEAR

Commercial/Retail - Eugene, Oregon

“Owner Kate Reid and [artist] VRGNZ found affinity in an inclusive vision of community that translates to a well-curated contemporary retail space. Both agree the intersection of art and fashion should be a safe space for exploration and self expression. The shop’s all-embracing sense of style is noticeable in Kate’s decision to introduce gender neutral fashion, pushing the boundaries of societal norms. This openness of identity leaves plenty of room for dialogue about art, community and what streetwear can be.” Quoted from an article in the Register Guard by Benjamin Terrell

Existing brick walls and concrete floors complement the brand vision. Linear LED strips illuminate the central retail space, and track lights along each edge highlight artwork and wall displays.

Custom retail displays include freestanding boxes, built in niches and clothing rails suspended from the ceiling. Black and white are used to contrast display niches from adjacent wall surfaces.

On the exterior a new geometric facade element enhances the street presence of the store, featuring an infilled sidewalk display window / showcase. Shoe display and logo graphics on back wall provide a strong visual backdrop that is eyecatching from the sidewalk.
